Which bag gets what
Use one bag for wash & fold and a separate bag for dry cleaning. Leather, shoes and handbags get their own bags too; they go to our leather & specialty service and are quoted after inspection.
What the label means
The FTC Care Labeling Rule requires care instructions on most clothing sold in the US, either in words or in the ASTM symbol system. A label that says dry clean tells you a safe method; it is the maker’s instruction for regular care. When the label says dry clean, put it in the dry-cleaning bag.
Wash & press (laundered shirts)
Cotton dress shirts are usually laundered: washed in water, pressed and returned on a hanger. They’re priced per shirt ($4.50 in NYC) and go in the dry-cleaning bag.
Wrong bag? We catch it
You don’t have to sort perfectly. Items in the wrong bag are flagged before cleaning, and dry cleaning is counted with photos before anything is cleaned.
